I was flying solo in my early twenties, at a small airport in Europe waiting to pass thru security in the very early morning. Because of the time the line for security was not too long, maybe 20 or so people waiting. I was only travelling with a large backpack. There was only one agent serving the whole line.

There was a couple queued behind me with a big rolling suitcase which they were pushing in front of them. As the line crawled forward and I took a few steps forward to close the gap, the woman pushing her suitcase rammed it into the back of my legs. At first I didn't react because accidents happen and I wasn't injured or anything.

But then it happened again. And again. Every time the line moved and I followed I would get rammed by their suitcase. I was not slowing them down or in their way, I was literally just ahead of them in line. I chose to walk the path of peace

and just tried my best to dodge them ramming me, at times just staring at them while they did it. They saw me, they saw me reacting, they just kept doing it. I did not speak the language they did but they were basically muttering and grumbling to each other (I'm assuming they were complaining

about the wait). But jesus hurting a random stranger won't speed things up. My best guess is they were trying to bait me into a conflict? Who knows A few times that they hit me I had looked up at the airport agent and made

eye contact. I could tell they saw what was happening between me and these . Also, not one person in line had been pulled aside for extra screening.

It was finally my turn to go thru security. I walked thru no problem. Then got the sweet satisfaction of watching the behind me get stopped and directed into the extra full search room. In my heart I felt like the airport agent was getting revenge for me :)

TheFilthyDIL • 2d ago The language barrier might have been real, or they might have been only pretending. When the guy behind me in the grocery store rammed his cart into my back for the second time, I wheeled around and said something like, "This line isn't going to move any faster for you hitting me. Now back off." He looked like I'd slapped him, full deer-in-the-headlights. But I am old and mean and have the advantage of being visibly disabled. Assaulting a crippled old lady in the grocery st

lucwin2020 2d ago I hope the agent was getting revenge for you. I have a similar story from my friend, who's also American. His dad was traveling in Europe from one country to another. A woman and her son; about 7 yo, were sitting behind him and every so often, the son would stick his foot between the seats and kick my friend's dad. When he politely told the women what her son was doing and could she tell him to stop, she claimed she didn't speak English. On one of his attempts the dad (an overw

that's when the mom started speaking very good English, telling him he'd trapped her son's leg. The dad apologized and said he was hard of hearing (a lie), so he didn't hear the kid screaming. Needless to say, the kid never kicked him again!

    • Mrsfig09 2d ago Had an individual try this in the airport line last week. I didn't look disabled from behind but I wear a brace on that leg and she kept catching it not my ankle. After the second time, I flagged security and got to go through the special access line for disabilities and she was escorted to the side by a grumpy security guy. They called her name on our 07:15 am flight twice so I guess she got rescheduled.

Zoreb1 . 2d ago Maybe their eagerness to get through raised a red flag (as well as red welts on your legs).

Kipakkanakkuna • 2d ago This has happened to me also. After the second hit I told the lady to stop doing it and that I would kick back if was push my heels one more time. She pretended not to understand. A moment later she rammed with more speed and an obvious intent to hurt. I caused a scene and got almost taken away from the plane.

Yellow Chicken1989 • 2d ago You all give them way too many chances. You should be paying full attention when pushing a shopping trolley. I don't care, you run into me one time, and I'm gonna be polite about it and say "It might've been an accident, but you've hit me, please try not to do this again." I'd rather stop them the first time to make sure there isn't a second time.

    • OutlookForThursday 2d ago I just turn 90 degrees. Just face away from the line of the queue. People won't crowd your side so much, and you can make eye contact more easily.

Tucker2CU 1d ago You can also say something loudly like... "Lady I told you it's against the law for me to sneak your bag through security now stop bugging me"

topinanbour-rex • 1d ago Happened the same to me. I had several bag, and passed the custom control at a train station (last train station before the border, it was the terminal for lines from both countries). It was going to be my turn, I got ready to have my bag checked and the person behind me suddenly bumped in me out of nowhere. The border agent told me to move forward, but the one who bumped me had all his stuff controlled..
